2025 NIFGASHOT

As part of a collaboration between the South Community Department of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the 'Meetings' project, the work IN C by international choreographer Sasha Waltz will have its Israeli premiere. It is a festive and immersive dance work, a multi-participant performance that will be presented in the public space of the Neve Ofer Community Center in Tel Aviv-Yafo, with free admission. The performance was created by choreographer Sasha Waltz (Germany), to music by composer Terry Riley, and has so far been performed in public spaces in many cities around the world.

IN's choreography C is built on the values of improvisation through listening, community, diversity and inclusion, and in the different cities where the show has been performed, professional dancers always perform alongside women of various ages and backgrounds. Each participant in the project learns how to develop personal freedom without harming the common good, how to feel the group and be part of it harmoniously. In this way, the project connects the values of democracy, mutual listening and collaborative creation. The work IN C brings a strong message of solidarity, cooperation and caring.

The show "Meetings - IN C" will be accompanied by music and performed by professional dancers alongside dance students from all over the country - from the Dance Academy in Jerusalem, from the "HaKavutsa" dance school in Tel Aviv-Yafo, and from the Vertigo Company workshop. The show will also feature women from the Golan Heights, in an exciting connection between communities from different parts of the country, and a total of about 80 performers with a wide range of dance backgrounds will dance the work "IN C" together. Activities and activities for the whole family will take place around the show.

Sasha Waltz is one of the most innovative and influential choreographers in the world of contemporary dance. Born in Germany in 1963, Waltz has been building a body of work that connects dance, theater, music, and visual art for over three decades – leaving a deep mark on the international stage.

The IN C project is supported by the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality, the Ministry of Culture, and the Goethe Institute. The project is being developed in collaboration with the Sasha Waltz Company, the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, the 'Group' Dance School, the Vertigo Dance Workshop, and the Neve Ofer Community Center.
